1. LKG & UKG -
Children will be assessed on the basis of continuous evaluation. There shall be no formal examination for classes LKG & UKG. The report cards of the children would be based on assessments/observations/evaluation done on day to day basis.
2. Class I and II –
The grading system is an overall assessment of the child’s performance in the class which includes written as well as oral skills. The report cards of the children are based on their performance in weekly tests/worksheets/class activities/oral testing assignments/project work assigned on regular/daily basis. Marks are awarded to the students on these parameters and then converted to
grades. Due credit is given to regularity, punctuality, regular & timely submission of assignments/homework and neatness as well. The achievement of the students of class I and II will be graded in accordance with the following five point scale.
A* Outstanding 90% - 100%
A Excellent 75% - 89%
B Very Good 56% - 74%
C Good 35% - 55%
D Scope for improvement below 35%
3. Classes III to VIII–
Academic year is divided into two terms:-
Term – I (100 marks: 1st half of the session)
Consists of one Periodic Assessment (20 marks) and Half Yearly Examination i.e. Mid- Term Test (80 marks).
Term – II (100 marks: 2nd half of the session)
Consists of one Periodic Assessment (20 marks) and Yearly Examination (80 marks).
Periodic Assessment (PA) comprises of the Weekly pen and paper Test which carries a weightage of 10%, Subject Enrichment of 5 marks (awarded for debate, role play, group discussion, project, lab activities etc. in accordance to the requirement of the subject) and Notebook Submission of 5 marks (awarded for regularity, punctuality, neatness and notebook upkeep). All components put together in PA carries a weightage of 20% towards the cumulative assessment in each term. Half Yearly and Annual Examination are pen and paper examinations at the end of each term for all classes.
The overall assessment of a child constitutes both scholastic and co-scholastic areas. The child will be assessed in co-scholastic areas on the following parameters:
Work Education (Skill based activities resulting in goods or services useful to the community).
The report card will reflect marks obtained along with the grades in Scholastic Areas (given on an eight point grading scale) and in Co-Scholastic Areas (given on a three point grading scale) as detailed below:

4. Class IX and X–
The examination for the academic year 2018-19 and onwards would be conducted as per the remodeled assessment structure proposed by CBSE.
Internal Assessment- 20 marks
Periodic Assessment (10 marks) - Three written tests { Pre-Mid Term, Mid Term ( Half Yearly) and Post- Midterm} will be held for each subject in an academic year. The average of the best two tests will be reflected in the cumulative Report Card to be given at the end of Term II.
Notebook Submission (5 marks)- awarded for regularity, punctuality, neatness and notebook upkeep. Subject Enrichment (5 marks) - awarded for speaking and listening skills, debate, role play, group discussion, project, lab activities etc. in accordance to the requirement of the subject.
For Class IX
Yearly Examination - 80 Marks
The Annual Examination would be a pen and paper examination towards the end of the academic session The report card will not only reflect marks and grades (given on an eight point grading scale as detailed below) obtained in Scholastic Areas but also in Co-Scholastic Areas (grades given on a five point scale A,B,C,D and E):

For Class X :
Annual Examination - 80 Marks
The Board Exams have been restored and CBSE will issue the report cards.
The detail can be viewed in the following format:-
Unit tests = 20 % (A) Half Yearly = 30 % (B) Annual Examination = 50 % (C) Annual Result (A+B+C = 100 %) Depending upon the nature of the subject/s the examination would be conducted in theory and in practical as well.
The question papers and marking scheme will be based on the pattern of CBSE Board Exams. The entire syllabus will be tested in the exams.
It is compulsory for all students to appear in all cycle tests as well as Half Yearly and Pre-Board Examinations. As per CBSE Guidelines, the students who have not completed a regular course of study i.e. have not completed 75% attendance will not be eligible to appear in Board’s examination of Class X. The final exams will be conducted by CBSE and it is mandatory to obtain 33% marks in theory and practical separately for a clear pass. [The details can be viewed at www.cbse.nic.in]
RULES FOR PROMOTION, DETENTION AND COMPARTMENT EXAM:-
School intends to follow the promotion policy as specified in the CBSE bye- laws. However, in case the child needs more reinforcement in academics, the matter will be discussed with the concerned parents and repetition (only once) will be allowed.
Classes VI to VIII
The rules specified (from time to time) by the CBSE will be adhered to.
1. A child getting D or above grades in all the subjects will be considered clear pass.
2. A child getting E grade in one or two subjects (with D grade or above in rest of the subjects) will be allowed to take Retest/Re-exam. The child will be promoted to the next higher class provided she/he gets D or above grade in the Retest/Re-exam of that subject/s.
3. A child getting E grades in three or more subjects shall NOT be considered for promotion to the next higher class. However, the decision on the conduct of exam lies with the Principal.
Class IX and X
The rules specified (from time to time) by the CBSE will be adhered to.
Kindly Note:
1. Appearing in Periodic Assessments, Half Yearly and the Annual exams is mandatory.
2. No examination will be conducted either before or after the scheduled date and time.
1. Clear Pass:-
The student must score 33% in each subject for a clear pass. The student must score 33% in theory and 33% in practical for promotion to higher class.
2. Compartment Cases:-
i. A child who scores less than 33% marks in one/two subjects and having an aggregate of 33% marks will have to appear for the compartment exam/s.
ii. A child who has appeared in the compartment exam will be declared pass only if she/he scores a minimum of 33% marks in the said exam.
NOTE:-
1. A child scoring less than 33% marks in three subjects or more will be detained.
2. A child detained twice will not be permitted to continue her/his studies in the school.
3. Final decision regarding promotion/detention will be made by a Committee of Senior Faculty members headed by the Principal.
1. Appearing in Periodic Assessments, Half Yearly Exams and the Annual Exams is mandatory. No examination will be conducted either before or after the scheduled date & time. A student absent from any examination without any substantial reason will be marked absent for that exam. Minimum 75% Attendance is mandatory to appear in the Term –II Annual exam.
2. If a child has not appeared in an exam without a genuine reason and has not forwarded her/his leave application, she/he will be marked absent and will be awarded ZERO.
3. If a child does not appear in any of the Periodic Assessment because of being sick, average marks will be allotted (subject to submission of an application along with relevant medical documents/certificate). If the child could not appear owing to representing school in Inter School competitions she/he would be allowed to give that test on some alternative date/s before the start of half yearly and annual examination.
4. Any pupil taking late admission after the Half Yearly Exam will not be considered for the Academic Awards even if she/he manages an aggregate within the bracket of the merit list.
5. Students indulging in unfair means during any test will be awarded ZERO in that test. No re-test for such students will be conducted. Repetition of the same will result in expulsion.
6. A child declared detained in the same class twice will not be permitted to continue her/his studies in the school.
